Course Outline and Assessment Information 2009

 

 This course aims:

  • To develop student's ability to use a range of software programs for designing page layouts, creating and editing graphics, researching and summarizing information, creating web sites and multimedia elements
  • To provide student with the knowledge and skills to use a variety of software programs and apply the basic technology process
  • To enable student to apply practical skills and related theoretical aspects of using the technology process to create an outcome

This course is divided into the following units of work:

  • manage files on the npghs network
  • apply simple design and layout principles to documents
  • apply simple programming language to create animations (SCRATCH programming)
  • create, edit and manipulate graphics
  • compress, manipulate and add effects to photos and images
  • create a web site  and webskin following web design principles and copyright and privacy laws
  • enchance a web site with animations and other multimedia elements such as a short movie

Students will have the opportunity to gain 6  Level One Credits

Unit Standard 18734:   Create a web page using a template.  2 credits

 

Achievement Standard 90051Describe the interactions between a technological innovation and society.
