This course aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in the following areas:
Software:

Learn how to use a range of tools and enhancement techniques within the SWIFT 3D animation software

Use Macromedia Flash as an interface for animation sequences
-
Solve a problem using a computer and animation software
-
Present a topic using multimedia software
-
Use audio/music manipulation software to create sound effects and music files
Researching Animation Techniques:
Generating and Developing Ideas:
Work closely with other technologists and experts in the field of digital media and animation

This first unit consists of 6 Generic Computing Unit Standard Credits
5947 v5 - Use computer technology to solve a specified problem. 3 credits
5963 v5 - Design and assemble a multimedia computer application without scripting. 3 credits
Unit Two - Major Project:
By the start of term two all students will be expected to have an outline of their major project. This plan will include initial consultation with the client and stakeholders, an initial issue statement and design brief.
This project is to be completed by the end of term 3.
This second unit consists of 12 internal Achievement Standard credits plus 4 External Achievement Standard credits.

90685 v2 - Demonstrate advanced skills in ICT (3.7) 4 credits
External Assessments:
Explain knowledge that underpins an informaiton and communication technology (3.6) 4 credits
